Spring Street Style: Cherry Blossom Bar
There's no more magical time than spring in D.C., and this year our friends over at Drink Company helped kick off the season with even more fanfare than usual. Their Cherry Blossom Pop Up Bar (or PUB, for short) is right down the street from us in Shaw, and we love that tidal basin crowds have been drawn further into the heart of the city as a result. With a lush canopy of over 90,000 silk flowers, a 10-foot tall animatronic Godzilla, and delicious Japanese-inspired cocktails, this picture-perfect scene has quickly become one of the city's most exciting (and Instagrammable) destinations!
The lines that form outside the PUB each day make for great people watching in our neck of the woods (and to our amusement, the occasional tipsy shopper). Here are some of our favorite street styles for every springtime social event on your calendar, inspired by this woodsy wonderland.
For Weeknights: Happy Hour With a Twist
When you don't know where the night will take you or who you may run into, reach for something comfortable, modest, and fun. In particular, this white pearl kimono is the perfect conversation-piece for an artsy locale—it's versatile enough to wear over jeans, dresses, or even a bathing suit for your next poolside fête!
For Brunch: #WokeUpLikeThis
The weekends are for sleeping in, not primping in front of a mirror. Pull on some basics, tousle that bedhead and add some red lipstick, and voila! You're ready. Graphic tees, soft stripes, and feminine florals all help keep the vibe ultra-relaxed.
TGIF: Girls Night Out
You know the drill. Dress to impress!
The Cherry Blossom PUB will be open through Sunday, April 29th and is well worth the hype. If you want to ogle more of the exquisite details before braving the line, Brightest Young Things featured a behind-the-scenes look at every room within the bar, including the Japanese Tea House and Tokyo's Memory Lane. Check it out!
