Best of DC 2018: What Makes Violet "The Best" is You!

So far, 2018 has been a huge year of change for us Violet gals: in a matter of six months, we rebranded, moved our boutique from Georgetown to Shaw, opened a pop-up (because what’s trendier than Shaw? A pop-up in Shaw!), and finally settled down in our amazing permanent location at The Shay. It’s been a roller coaster ride full of surprises, laughter, the occasional sigh of exhaustion…and of course, a lot of fabulous clothes.

In April (our first full month in the new store), Violet was awarded “Best Boutique in DC” for 2018 by Washington City Paper. Even though this was our fifth win, the recognition has never been more special or exciting than now, amidst a year of so much transition and uncertainty. To all our old friends, new neighbors and loyal shoppers that voted for us in the Reader’s Poll and have come to check out our new store…thank you! You mean the world to us.

Affirmations like this feel good. But more important than winning--or even the grand opening of a beautiful new store--are the seven years we have with so many of our spectacular employees and shoppers. Each time you walk through our door reminds us of why we love what we do!

If you haven’t checked out Washington City Paper's Best of 2018 issue, we highly recommend you use it to start making your bucket list for this summer. It’s such a thrill to be considered peers with other amazing D.C. businesses such as Politics and Prose, Glen’s Garden Market, Cherry Blossom Creative, and dozens of others that celebrate a certain aspect of life in D.C.!
